Terms of use

Version of 24 October 2026. See also the legal notice and the Personal data page.

Artesir is run from France and is governed by French law. This English text is a translation provided for your convenience; if it differs from the French version, the French version prevails.

Article 1 — Purpose and acceptance

These terms of use (the “Terms”) govern access to and use of the Artesir website and its application (together, the “Service”), published by the person named in the legal notice (“Artesir”, “we”). By creating an account, you confirm that you have read and accept the Terms without reservation. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.

Article 2 — Definitions

  • Member: anyone who holds an account (artist — lyricist, musician, singer, sound engineer, filmmaker, photographer — or venue and event organiser).
  • Content: any information posted by a member (profile, photo, text, ad, application, message, review, video or link, audio link (SoundCloud), post, comment, reaction, concert, question or answer).
  • Moderation: the activities by which Artesir detects, examines and deals with content that is illegal or contrary to the Terms, within the meaning of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 on digital services (the “DSA”).

Article 3 — Access to the Service and accounts

Adults only. The Service is reserved for people aged 18 or over. By signing up, you declare that you are 18 or older. An account opened by a minor will be deleted.

One account per person and per address. An account is linked to a single e-mail address, and one address can only create one account. Duplicate accounts (including through variants of the same address) may be deleted. The information you give must be accurate and kept up to date; Artesir does not check the identity, qualifications or intentions of members, except for the optional check of a business registration number (“Confirmed” badge), which only shows that a number exists in a public register and matches the profile.

Security. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for the use of your account. If in doubt, change your password and use “Log out of all devices” in your Settings, then let us know.

Free of charge. The Service is free. Artesir sells nothing, handles no payments and takes no commission.

Article 4 — What Artesir is: a service that puts people in touch

Artesir puts artists and organisers in touch: profiles, ads, applications, messaging, bands, sharing of creations (“Your creations”), concerts, news feed, challenge of the month, advice between members. Artesir is not a party to any agreement made between members (performance, fee, rental, sale…), takes no part in negotiating or carrying it out, and guarantees neither its performance nor its payment. Fees, rates and prices shown are indications given by the members themselves.

Each member must be careful: check references, meet first in a public place, put any important agreement in writing, never pay a stranger in advance. Answers in the “Advice” section are given by members, are not checked and are not professional advice, especially regarding safety (electricity, sound systems, hearing health).

Article 5 — Rules of conduct and prohibited content

You agree to use the Service only for its intended purpose, in compliance with the law and with respect for other members. The following are prohibited in particular:

  • illegal content, in particular: incitement to hatred, violence or discrimination, glorification of terrorism or crime, threats;
  • harassment, insults, defamation, disparagement of a member;
  • any sexual content, any sexual solicitation or prostitution, and any content harmful to minors;
  • the sale or promotion of drugs, weapons, counterfeit goods or any illegal goods or services;
  • scams and attempted fraud (requests for advance payment, vouchers, money orders, bank details…);
  • unsolicited advertising, spam and repeated off-topic messages;
  • publishing other people's personal data without their consent (address, telephone number, photo…);
  • content that infringes the rights of others (copyright, image rights, trademarks), in particular music or a video you do not hold the rights to;
  • identity theft, fake profiles, creating duplicate accounts to get around a suspension;
  • any attempt to disrupt the Service (bots, automated collection of members' data, intrusion, circumventing limits).

Article 6 — Your content

You keep the rights to your content. You guarantee that you hold the necessary rights and are solely responsible for it. So that the Service can work, you grant Artesir, free of charge and worldwide, the non-exclusive right to reproduce, resize and display your content on the Service, only for as long as it is online. This right ends when you remove a piece of content or delete your account.

Videos, audio links (SoundCloud) and shared links remain hosted by their original platform (YouTube, Vimeo, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, SoundCloud…); Artesir displays them in an embedded player or as a simple link, without copying them, and is not responsible for the content of external sites. Reactions and comments left under a creation are the content of their author; the artist can hide comments received on their creations, and everyone can remove their own.

You alone are responsible for the photos you publish on your profile: with each upload, you certify that you took them or have the consent of the photographer and of any recognisable people. Artesir is not responsible for photos published by its members. A photo that breaks the rules of article 5 (the charter) is removed by the administrator without prior warning; you are informed afterwards, with the reasons (article 9).

Artesir has no general obligation to monitor content (article 8 of the DSA). As a hosting provider, it acts promptly to remove clearly illegal content as soon as it becomes aware of it, in particular through a report.

Article 7 — Moderation: our rules, our tools, our decisions

What we moderate. Illegal content and content that breaks article 5. Private messages, applications and poll answers are not read by any artificial intelligence tool: only the list of prohibited words below applies to them, and the administrator only reads a private message if it is reported to them.

Automatic tools.

  • A list of prohibited words and expressions (drugs, prostitution, scams, serious insults, hatred…). A text containing one is not published: the reason is shown on screen straight away, and you can correct your text. The attempt is recorded for the administrator. A review containing such a word is saved but stays hidden until the administrator decides.
  • An automatic moderator, Claude (an artificial intelligence tool made by Anthropic). It reads published texts (profiles, bands, ads, videos, posts, comments, questions, answers, reviews, concerts) — never private messages or applications — and flags to the administrator those that may be a problem, with a category and a reason. It does not refuse, hide or delete anything itself. See the Personal data page for what is sent to it.

Decisions are made by a person. Apart from the refusals to publish described above, every removal of content, every suspension and every deletion of an account is decided by the Artesir administrator after review, taking into account how serious the facts are, whether they are repeated, and any explanations given.

Possible measures, from the lightest to the heaviest: refusal to publish; warning; removal or hiding of content; suspension of the account (ban), for the whole site and until further notice; deletion of the account, reserved for serious or repeated breaches, or for an account already suspended. The measure is proportionate to the seriousness of the facts. A suspension can be lifted at any time, at your request or on our own initiative. The e-mail address of a suspended account cannot be used to create a new account. After a warning, Artesir may also stop processing the reports of a person who sends manifestly unfounded ones.

Article 8 — Reporting content

Any member can report content or a member using the “Report” buttons (conversation, post, comment, question, answer, video or track, comment on a creation, review). Anyone, even without an account, can also report content they consider illegal by writing to contact@artesir.com. For us to be able to act, your report must include (article 16 of the DSA): a sufficiently precise explanation of why you consider the content illegal; the exact address of the page (its link); your name and e-mail address (except for certain offences involving minors); a statement that you are acting in good faith and that the information given is accurate and complete.

You immediately receive an acknowledgement e-mail. The report is examined by a person, diligently and objectively; you then receive a second e-mail telling you what action was taken (no action, warning, removal of the content or suspension of the account) and how to challenge it. The reported person never learns who reported them. Knowingly reporting as illegal content that is not, in order to have it removed, may make its author liable under civil and criminal law.

Article 9 — Information about decisions and how to challenge them

When we remove one of your pieces of content, or suspend or delete your account, you receive an e-mail clearly setting out the measure taken, the facts, the reason (the rule of the Terms or the legal rule concerned), and stating whether an automatic tool was involved (article 17 of the DSA). When the suspension of your account is lifted, you are informed in the same way. A warning is sent to you in the same manner.

You can challenge a decision, free of charge, for six months, by replying to that e-mail or by writing to contact@artesir.com. Your request is reviewed by a person who, where possible, did not take the decision being challenged, and we reply within 15 days. If your challenge is justified, the measure is cancelled without delay and the content restored. A person who made a report can, in the same way, challenge a decision not to act. You can also turn to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body (article 21 of the DSA), and in all cases you keep the right to bring the matter before the competent court.

Article 10 — Serious offences

If we become aware of information giving rise to a suspicion of a criminal offence threatening the life or safety of one or more people, we inform the competent authorities without delay (article 18 of the DSA). We respond to requests from judicial authorities within the framework of the law. You can yourself report illegal content on the official French platform PHAROS (internet-signalement.gouv.fr) or to the authorities of your own country and, in case of immediate danger, call 112.

Article 11 — Reviews between members

After an ad has been filled on Artesir, the advertiser and the person selected can review each other. Only these two people can give a review of this collaboration, once only: reviews are therefore linked to a real contact made through the Service. No consideration is given in return for them (article L111-7-2 of the French Consumer Code).

On a profile, reviews are grouped according to whether their author is an organiser or an artist; within each group, they are listed from newest to oldest, with their date. The 20 most recent are shown; the overall rating is calculated from all published reviews. Neither the ratings nor the text of a review can be changed after it is sent; its author can only add photos to it. A review is never refused or changed by Artesir because of what it says, whether positive or negative. A review containing a prohibited word stays hidden until the administrator decides; a review can also be reported (“Report this review” link) and removed if it breaks article 5. Its author is informed.

Article 12 — Badges and challenge of the month

The “Founding member” badge is a mark of recognition freely awarded by Artesir to members who supported the project in its early days. It gives no rights: no right to the Service, its name, its content or its income, no share, no payment, no advantage, no priority, no decision-making or moderation power. Artesir can award it or remove it at any time, without having to give reasons.

The challenge of the month is free and requires no purchase; there is no prize and no sum of money. Each member can take part once per challenge and vote once, never for themselves; they can change or withdraw their vote until the end of the challenge. The video with the most votes on the closing date earns its author the “Challenge winner” badge, which gives no rights either; in the event of a tie, the entry sent first wins. With no votes at all, there is no winner. Artesir may exclude an entry that breaks the Terms or cancel votes in the event of fraud.

Article 13 — E-mails

The Service sends you the e-mails your account needs (address confirmation, forgotten password, change of address, moderation decisions concerning you), notices of new messages and the Monday e-mail “What's new on Artesir”. You can stop the last two at any time in your Settings or with the link at the bottom of each e-mail.

Article 14 — Availability of the Service

Artesir does its best to keep the Service available at all times, but cannot guarantee it: it may be interrupted for maintenance, in case of breakdown or external events. Artesir may change the Service; if it were to close permanently, members would be told at least thirty days in advance, so that they can download their information.

Article 15 — Liability

Each member is responsible for their content, their exchanges and the agreements they make. Artesir, as the host of members' content, is only liable for it under the conditions laid down by law (article 6 of the DSA and the French law on confidence in the digital economy). Artesir is not a party to agreements between members and is not liable for their performance; it can only be held liable for its own fault, under the ordinary rules of law. Nothing in the Terms limits Artesir's liability in the event of gross negligence or intentional misconduct, nor the rights you have under the law.

Article 16 — Personal data

Artesir processes your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the French Data Protection Act. Everything is explained on the Personal data page: which data, why, for how long, who has access to it, and how to exercise your rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection). You can download your information and delete your account yourself, at any time, in your Settings.

Article 17 — Artesir's intellectual property

The Artesir name, its logo, the layout of the site, its texts, its illustrations (including the default images offered to members) and its software are protected. Any reproduction outside normal use of the Service is prohibited without permission. The default images may be used by members on their Artesir profile, and only there.

Article 18 — Duration, account deletion, termination

The Terms apply for as long as you have an account. You can delete your account at any time, in a few clicks, in Settings › Delete my account: deletion is immediate and permanent (see the Personal data page for details of what is erased). Artesir may suspend or delete an account in the event of a breach of the Terms, proportionately, after review by a person and with the information provided for in articles 7 and 9; an account may also be closed if the Service closes (article 14).

Article 19 — Changes to the Terms

Artesir may change the Terms, for example to follow the law or a new feature. Any significant change is announced to you on the site or by e-mail at least fifteen days before it comes into force, unless the law requires it to apply sooner. On your first visit after it comes into force, the new version is shown to you, with a summary of the changes, and you are asked to accept it to continue. If you do not accept it, you can download your information and delete your account. The date of the current version appears at the top of this page.

Article 20 — Applicable law and disputes

The Terms are governed by French law. If there is a problem, please write to us first at contact@artesir.com: we always look for an amicable solution. Failing that, the dispute will be brought before the competent courts; if you are a consumer, you may choose to apply to the court of the place where you lived when you signed up or of the place where the damage occurred. If you live outside France, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection given to you by the mandatory rules of the country where you live.

Article 21 — Contact us (single point of contact)

For any question, report, challenge or to exercise your rights: contact@artesir.com. This single point of contact, within the meaning of articles 11 and 12 of the DSA, is for members and authorities alike; we reply in French or English.
